With the holidays being so close, many people in Manitoba start thinking about the animals…
Why Pet Animal Life Fund Supports the Barefoot Ranch & Manitoba Mutts
Helping animals in need has always felt personal to my wife and me. Behind every rescue is a real story. Some animals come from neglect. Others are surrendered when owners run out of options. In every case, they rely on people stepping in at the right time.
Through Pet Life Animal Fund, my wife, Jodi Ruta, and I, Clinton Orr, support organizations that do hands-on, meaningful work. We recently donated $2,600 to the Barefoot Ranch and another $2,600 to the Manitoba Mutts Dog Rescue. Both groups are making a real difference in Manitoba, and we want to be part of that.
Supporting the Barefoot Ranch
The Barefoot Ranch team takes in horses, donkeys, and mules that don’t have a home. Many of these animals arrive in poor condition and require long-term care. Some need medical treatment, while others need time, food, and a safe place to rest.
Their work depends on dedication and consistency, which is what stood out to us. These are not short-term rescues. Caring for large animals requires ongoing effort and resources. Food, shelter, and vet care all add up quickly.
Our donation supports those daily needs. It also helps provide these animals a second chance at a better life, which Jodi and I strongly believe in.
Our Donation to Manitoba Mutts
Manitoba Mutts rescues dogs and cats and places them in foster homes until they’re ready for adoption. Jodi and I have always respected the foster model. Animals get more attention, greater stability, and a better transition into permanent homes.
Rescues like this deal with high demand. There are always more animals than resources. Medical care, vaccinations, and transportation all come at a cost.
That is where support matters most. Our $2,600 donation helps cover those essentials and keeps their work moving forward. Every animal they take in represents another chance at a safe and stable life.
Why This Matters to Us
Jodi and I know how much rescues can cost. One emergency surgery or a sudden intake of animals can stretch a budget thin. Many organizations operate with limited funding yet continue to show up every day.
Through Pet Life Animal Fund, our goal is to help ease that pressure. Supporting local rescues keeps the impact close to home and helps organizations continue their work without turning animals away.
Motivation to Keep Contributing
There is always more to be done. New cases come in, and the need doesn’t slow down. Jodi and I plan to continue supporting groups that care for animals, such as the Barefoot Ranch and Manitoba Mutts.
Every contribution helps. Whether it goes toward medical care, food, or shelter, it makes a genuine difference in an animal’s life. That is what drives Jodi and me to keep going.
