In his professional life, Clinton Orr is a Senior Wealth Advisor and Senior Portfolio Manager with Canaccord Genuity Corp. He earned his start in the industry in 2003 after earning his Bachelor of Commerce and earning multiple designations, including financial planning, investment management, and derivatives markets.

Clinton Orr and his wife Jodi live with their furry family in rural Manitoba and enjoy spending their time together watching sports and other activities. The two are both passionate dog lovers and are striving to support their charitable initiative, the Pet Life Animal Fund.

The passion Clinton has for helping people in his career translates into his deep love for animals. The goal of Petlife Animal Fund is to provide support for Manitoba shelters by covering vet bills, allowing those pets to get healthy and find a new home.

To date, Clinton and his wife have supported multiple animals who required medical treatment, who may not have been adoptable otherwise. For Clinton and Jodi, ensuring an animal can have a better quality of life is worth all of the time and dedication they put forth into providing shelters with the means to do more.

Frequently Asked Questions

Clinton Orr: The story of Pet Life Animal Fund initially began in 2012 with our adopted dog Bubba. We adopted him from a no-kill shelter after he had a particularly rough start in life. We took Bubba in when he was 5 years old and he served as a loving companion for 7 years before passing away in 2019. He had such an impact on our lives that my wife became a certified dog trainer and inspired us to get more actively involved with rescues. Once we realized how limited many shelters are in terms of budget, we decided to honour Bubba by creating the Pet Life Animal Fund.

Our mission is to help fund rescues that take in animals, care for them and find them a loving home. We are happy to work with organized animal charities across Canada, here’s a list of some of the organizations we’ve partnered with to date:

  • Saving Grace Animal Society
  • D’Arcy’s Arc
  • New Start Standardbreds
  • Dog Tales Charitable Foundation
  • Paws and Claws Animal Rescue
  • Edmonton Humane Society
  • Zoe’s Animal Rescue
  • Pembina Valley Humane Society
  • Ca-R-Ma.Org Cat Rescue
  • My Grandfather’s Cat
  • Toronto Humane Society

That’s great news! You can contact one of our partners directly for more information on the specific procedures.

The biggest challenge is their budget. Most rescues and shelters can barely keep up with basic costs. They rely on donations from organizations like ours to provide the medical treatments that pets need. Our goal is to help cover as many of those essential costs as we are able to.

According to petkeen.com, the number of animals awaiting adoption in Canada is around 700,000. It’s a staggering number. Due to this, many animals are being euthanized simply because there aren’t enough resources available to care for them. It’s important for us to work with shelters who have no-kill policies for healthy animals.
